There is an expert on every subject imaginable with computer software included. Becoming an expert takes time and education but who has the time these days. The time we live in today is fast paced and demanding. Everything has to be done yesterday. Keeping up with computer programs is a task in itself besides keeping up on the latest version on the same software you thought you already knew.

Are you ready for the release of Microsoft’s Office 2010 next year? Next year may seem like a long time from now, but as fast as the world moves, it will be here quicker than you can say Word! If you answered “no” do you really have the time to become an expert with the software. That’s a question you can answer “yes” to. The secret to becoming the expert is online Office 2010 training and Office 2010 CBT.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert in the prior Office products, you can benefit from online Office 2010 training , especially if you are short on time. Online training and computer based training offer do it yourself training as well as at your own pace training. Office 2010 CBT is a CD based training program that is a good choice for the beginner, as well as the work overloaded expert. These CD’s can be played on laptops, for the professionals on the go. The beginner may feel less overwhelmed using a CD to learn by than logging into an internet account for online Office 2010 training. Online training is becoming a popular way to train for many people these day and that’s because the internet is used for everything, just about. Online and CBT are the best options one has if they can not fit a traditional classroom setting into their busy schedule. What could be easier than popping a CD in and away you go?

First of all, most people simply open up Microsoft Office and try to navigate through the software without ever truly learning how to use it. This is all fine and good for those who are software savvy, but for those who are not it usually results in a lot of lost time and they still do not learn the program. So, what can individuals do who need to learn to use Microsoft Office but who really have no clue how to get started? For these people there are options like online Microsoft Office training. There are many benefits to online Microsoft Office training and it is highly recommended for anyone who will use this program.

For others who find that online training is not the right option for them then they can choose to use a Microsoft Office training CD. This training CD is an excellent option for anyone who wants to learn Microsoft Office or even those who are already familiar with the program but want to brush up on a few areas. It is so easy to sit down in front of a computer and simply start going through the tutorial and focusing on the areas where you really need help and skipping or just brushing over the ones that are not that important. You might dread taking a tutorial or course like this, but when you actually get involved in it you will realize that it really is a great idea and one that will help you significantly in your career and every day use of Microsoft Office.

There are some tips you should follow, however, before you begin taking any online class and tutorial. And, the first one is to prepare yourself to learn. If you go into the tutorial focusing on other things then you will never really learn all that Microsoft Office has to offer. The same goes for allotting time to take the training. If you are short on time and try to cram an hour’s worth of tutorial into 15 minutes then you really will not benefit much from the tutorial. Because of this, it is really important that you focus on time allotment and make room for your Microsoft Office course. You will be glad you did in the end because you will learn so many different things about this software that you never knew and it will really help you in your job and daily life as a result.

Online training is a viable option for Microsoft training in our current economy. This type of training can utilize different means to give your employees the training needed in your company. This type of training can involve an actual person training your employees over the internet or utilizing software to interact with employees as they learn new skills.

Cost

The cost of this type of training is a mere fraction of the cost of sending your employee to a training event. This will save your company money while you are investing in your employee.

Convenience

The employee could do this training at their desk or even at home. This allows them the freedom to access the training when it is convenient for them.

Accountability

This type of training would cause the employee to be accountable for doing the training. Unlike a training event, you would have to trust the employee to do the training for themselves. Creating tracking measures would ensure success regarding completing this type of training.

Flexibility

The flexibility in this type of training is ideal. It gives the employee the option to do the training when it is convenient for them. The flexibility of the time and location allows the employee some type of control regarding their training. The employer can use this flexible type of training to reach the employees who are more independent and respond better to independent style training.

Type

The type of training can be more tutorial or hands-on. Select the training that will best meet your employee’s learning style. Keep in mind that all people learn differently so be sure to have options that fit your employees’ the best!

Given these types of benefits and options regarding online Microsoft training, it should be viewed as a great option for employees and a cost effective option for employers. This is a win-win for everyone involved.

When selecting an on-site Microsoft vendor, make some wise choices regarding the scheduling of the training event. You want to get the biggest bang out of your dollar. Make sure small mistakes don’t take away from the training experience you have paid for.

Date of Training

Do NOT schedule classes for 8am on Monday morning. Something always happens that causes people be late or not show up. I call it the Monday effect. On the flip side, there is also the Friday effect. Don’t have classes end at 5p on Fridays. This may cause resentment to the training provider because the employees are ready for the weekend.

Location of Training

Make sure you have reserved the training room. So often, we start the class and another department shows up and makes a claim for the room. This causes a distraction until the issue is resolve

Access to the training room

Make sure the trainer has access to the building and the training room. They typically need to setup prior to the class, so make sure arrangement have been made. This may involve telling security and other access employees this information prior to the training. Delays with this may delay the start of training.

Software Installed

Make sure the employee are using the software that is being trained. Sounds silly but ¾ of the classes I have trained, have delays because the software was never installed. This wasn’t discovered until the training had begun and the employees spoke up.

Photos and Filming of Event

Make sure your employees realize this provider is not an employee so don’t take liberties such as photos for films of the class. With social media, some students think it fun to upload videos or photos to Facebook or MySpace. Depending on the vendor you select, you may be charged more for recording the training event.

These are just a few tips to keep in mind when bring an onsite Microsoft trainer to your company. These tips will allow a comfortable training environment for everyone involved as your employees enjoy the training experience!

Business today is unthinkable without computers. No matter which sector you go to and which business function you cater to, you, IT is omnipresent. So if you want to be a part of the revolution, you need to be computer literate. There are so many courses available – starting from basic computer knowledge to Microsoft training courses to Cisco certifications. Among them, Microsoft training is the most sought after IT certification. The environment is ever changing. Any technology that was at a peak two years ago is nearly obsolete today. So even if you have done Microsoft training courses some time back, it makes sense to upgrade your knowledge now. You need to enrol yourself into proper classes and do the training seriously.

An Overview Of Microsoft Training

Microsoft is considered to be the leader in software technology as a majority of the computers run on its programs. A Microsoft Certification is the only certificate that is recognised all over the world. There are a variety of Microsoft training courses. Almost all of them teach you the basics like MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Windows XP, Outlook, and Server Windows Vista. By learning these programs, you can customise your database and enhance your efficiency. You can present any information in a professional manner. With a Microsoft certification, you can also expect a salary and position hike as you will have an edge over your peers.

Nowadays, most companies encourage their employees to take up Microsoft training courses. They are even ready to pay for the courses. The employers have realised that if their employees are Microsoft certified, it will be mutually beneficial. The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification validates your capabilities with the Microsoft Office suite. If you have the certification, employers will give you special preference. They ensure enhancement of your capabilities as this certification is honoured all over the world. It is not too difficult to get this certification. You need to put in a little bit of dedication to your studies. It is better if you join some classes where professional instructors can guide you. These are specialised courses that need professional guidance.

Apart from the simple ones, there are other Microsoft training courses that are for people looking for advanced training. If you are into application development, you might want to do Microsoft Software Application Developer courses. These courses give a better understanding of the Microsoft .NET Framework. The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) course provides a better understanding of the main software operating systems and networking protocols. The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) trains professionals on various aspects of design, development, and testing. The best course for network administrators is MCSE certifications. MCSE exams deal with networking technologies and software development. It imparts knowledge on various network protocols. With Microsoft training courses you can kick start your career and go far ahead of your peers.

The Benefits of Onsite Computer Training

If you run a business, chances are you will certainly want to improve the efficiency and skills of all your employees. With many of what is done in business revolving around the computer and what it can do for your business, it stands to reason that computer training for your employees will be greatly beneficial. The challenge then becomes where to have this training done. More businesses are now opting for onsite computer training in an effort to reduce the cost associated with traveling. Here are some of the benefits of training onsite.

Possibly the more obvious benefit of onsite computer training is that training will take place in a familiar environment. A number of studies have concluded that when people are trained in an environment that is familiar to them they tend to do better at learning than people in a strange environment. Therefore computer training that takes place in a familiar location will allow the trainee to be more focused on what is being taught and not on their surroundings.
Also by training onsite businesses can save money. The cost associated with sending people to be trained at a different location can at times be very prohibitive and expensive. Thus companies often opt for the trainers to come to them and this is often more affordable.

The onsite computer training class allows for all staff members to have their training done together. This facilitates employees working together to find solutions to problems and also address concerns. Staff members will be more comfortable being around one another and will by extension learn the material quicker.

Another great benefit is that companies are better able to have the learning experience customized. The company is likely to have particular training requirements that may need to be incorporated into the design of the computer training sessions and what is taught.

Onsite computer training is likely to grow in popularity as companies seek to maximize their employee’s competences and productivity. The benefit of employees learning better when, serves to decrease the lapse time between training and application of what is learned.

It may become necessary sometimes for companies to have training done elsewhere making travel necessary. This kind of situation however, is fast becoming unnecessary especially as technology has improved dramatically allowing onsite training to take place anywhere. Employees tend to also prefer training onsite and are more comfortable there. The company also ends up saving a lot of money in the long run.

Boost Your Job Qualifications Via Computer Training

Microsoft Training is always a good thing to because most companies use Microsoft products. At the moment many people are between jobs and the chances are that they are getting some extra training in while they are looking for work to both pass the time usefully and to improve the look of their CV. It is well worth thinking about the people that you would be competing against if you were looking for a job. What sort of qualifications might they be getting to enhance their skills.

It is worth thinking hard about this even if you have a job at the moment. However, secure you might think your position is, it could be the case that you get made redundant for some reason. It is therefore important to make sure that you are in the best possible position to get a new job and to get one quickly. As well as making sure that your CV is as up to date as possible, it is also a good idea to make sure that your skills and qualifications are up to date. It is worth considering doing a course which will not only show your enthusiasm for the subject, your desire to improve and your interest in that area but it will also show that you have good qualifications. Something like a BizTalk training class will be easy for you to start and fit in around your job, should you need to. It will be able to teach you everything you need to know about the relevant topic that you need to study as well as being convenient for you. There are a lot of opportunities for study these days, you do not have to always travel away and do an expensive course in a capital city. It is possible to do training in front of your computer at home and get a perfectly credible qualification.

Do careful research and you will be able to find all about what is available and be able to compare the prices of the courses as well as the types of courses and how they work. If you have not studied for a while you will probably be surprised at the opportunities that are around and how easy it is these days to get some qualifications or some new skills. It could be a real help to your employment prospects and you might even enjoy it.

Is The Course Content Relevant to Your Industry?

Once you have decided to have a provider come onsite for your training, make sure the course content is relevant to your industry. Alot of providers will show canned examples that may or may may be relevant to your company. Insist on using a provider who will provide content in your industry so the skills learned will be retained!

Are they willing to work with your schedule? Training On The Go realizes that training must be adaptable to the clients needs. This is why they offer training schedules to fit your needs. Once you pick your course content, you can select when the class takes place. This can be mornings, afternoon, evenings, and even weekends!

Will They Allow For Course Customization?

Instead of using canned examples, does the provider allow for customization? This is imperative for the skills learned to be retained. The provider needs to be willing to step away from their “script” and allow for your company’s input in the course development. This may include topic selection, client example usage, or development of customized examples around client’s industry.

Of Course, What Costs Are Involved?

Lastly, cost is most often the deciding factor. Be sure to compare the provider with similar providers and weigh the services gained. Are your requirements being met or are you being made to fit into a mold they use for each and every client?

Select a provider who treats you as the unique client you are. Your needs are specific to your industry and your training should reflect that! Don’t settle for canned sessions when you can have so much more.

Online Computer Training Vs Onsite Computer Training

You can get computer training in many different places at many different times to learn a wide variety of different things. Computers have become indispensible in our society and the result is that we often have to learn to do things that don’t come naturally or we just have not been exposed to. If you don’t want to simply fake your way through another interview when you are asked if you know how to use a specific program, why not just learn how? You can choose to either learn the program online or you can do it onsite in a class room setting.

There are benefits and drawbacks to both online and onsite computer training. You really need to choose the type of training that will fit your needs, your learning style, your budget, and your schedule the very best. Some people do better with an online type of training while others do better with an onsite. Choosing the right type of computer training for you is important.

With online trainings you have the benefit of being able to do the training when it suits you. Instead of having to sit in a classroom and listen to someone talk, you can do the training when it is right for you, whether that is early in the morning or late at night. Another great part of online computer training is that you can repeat a lesson until you have mastered a new skill. Instead of trying to learn at the pace as everyone else in the classroom you can learn at your pace, soaking things up.

Of course, there are some drawbacks to online training. You need to consider the fact that you may have questions and if you are online you won’t have anyone to ask. You may not hold yourself accountable, so you may not pick up on things as fast as you could if you took an onsite course.

An onsite course is also very beneficial because you are with an instructor who understands the program in and out. If you have any questions you can ask and have them answered. You will become proficient in very little time and you’ll be ready to start using the program on your own. You’ll have the benefit of interacting with your peers and picking up on their tips.

The drawbacks of an onsite course are that you have to be there at a certain time at a certain place. You may not learn the same way as everyone else in the classroom, and you may find that this is a type of training that you just cannot afford as it tends to be more expensive. Onsite training works well, but it is not for everyone.

To get your staff on the same skill level, offer training that start with basic Excel knowledge and gradually build up until you get to the advanced topics you are comfortable with. When deciding your training curriculum, keep the lower 25% in mind. You want the training to be inclusive so it reaches all staff members. This will involve staff members who may not be as proficient as others.

Basic excel topics could include things topics that introduce the users to the Excel interface. Examples of this would be new features of Excel 2007, creating basic formulas, creating graphs and charts, and printing basics. Intermediate topics would be functions (Vlookup, If, Count, Sum,etc), templates, filtering, sharing and auditing workbooks, and data validation. While, advanced topics could include more advanced functions (MATCH, INDEX,etc), Importing, macros, real time data exports, etc.

Your training provider should be flexible with the content offered and be willing to judge your staff’s needs in the proposal phase of your training event. Ask your staff members what they expect to gain from the training and design your training event around their expectations and your goals. Be sure to do an evaluation and follow-up to see what was learned after the event is done. This will allow you to see what was retained and will be used after the event is complete.
